Leica Camera AG / Page 1 of 2 Installation instructions for the Leica X Vario (Typ 107) - Firmware 1.1 Dear Customers, By installing the firmware 1.1 on your Leica X Vario (Typ 107) you will gain additional functions for your camera. Update Contents Model Number LEICA X Vario (Typ 107) Update Version Version 1.1 Update File Name XV-1_100.upd Description Version Description Version 1.1 Operational Improvements: • Direct exposure correction L in "A" mode and "T" mode the Exposure Value compensation functionality is in direct access on the Thumb Dial. • Info button: o the info button confirms menu selections in the same way the menu/set button confirms them o it also starts the playback function in video playback mode • Flash button: L the flash button is now only activated when either the internal flash is opened-up or an external Leica flash is attached • Audio Volume: L video playback mode the volume is adjustable via the top and bottom button on back rocker switch in Functionality Improvements: • New functionality item “Auto ISO:” o selection of shutter speed times is broadened up to the range of 1s to 1/1000s o If Auto ISO is selected it stays active in M mode also Leica Camera AG / Page 2 of 2 Firmware Update Procedere 1. Download an updated version of the firmware and double click on the ZIP-file to unpack it. 2. Copy the firmware file onto a SD Memory Card in its top level folder. 3. Make sure to turn off the power switch on the camera. 4. Insert the fully charged battery to the body. If the battery is not fully charged, the update process screen will not appear. 5. Insert the SD Memory Card into the camera. 6. Turn the camera – while simultaneously pressing the info button – on. 7. The firmware update screen will appear. Press OK. 8. The LEICA X Vario will start the update process. The firmware update will take about 90 seconds. 9. After the update process please restart the camera. CAUTION: Please do not turn off your camera or do not remove the SD Memory Card while updating your camera's firmware. DOING SO CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS DAMAGE TO YOUR CAMERA!
