GearPulse is built to collect as little personal data as possible. This page explains what we store, why, and what your rights are under GDPR.

What we collect

• Account data (if you register): your email address, display name and notification preferences. Used solely to deliver the service — firmware notifications you asked for.
• Subscriptions: which products or categories you follow.
• Security logs: significant account events (registration, password changes) are logged with a one-way hashed IP address — we never store your raw IP in logs.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie and a CSRF protection token. No analytics cookies, no tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies. Because none of these require consent under the ePrivacy rules, there is no cookie banner to click.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
• We don't profile you or track you across other sites.
• We don't send email beyond the notifications and account messages you've chosen.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time. Deletion anonymizes your personal data immediately: your email and name are removed, and your subscriptions are deleted. Anonymized security logs (with hashed IPs only) are retained, as they can no longer be linked to you.
